It’ll be a special edition to celebrate 30 years of activity!<\/p>\n

The Festival\u2019s sections<\/h1>\n

There are three competitive sections at Milan\u2019s African, Asian and Latin American Film Festival:<\/p>\n

\u201cWindows on the World\u201d Feature Films Competition
\n<\/strong>Prize euro 8,000*<\/em>
\nFiction and documentary films made by directors from Africa, Asia and Latin America (minimum running time 60 min.)
\nThe competing feature films in 2019.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

African Short Films Competition<\/strong>
\nPrize euro 2,000*<\/em>
\nFiction and documentary short films made by African directors (maximum running time 59 min.)
\nThe competing African short films in 2019.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

Extr\u2019A Competition<\/strong>
\nPrize euro 1,000*<\/em>
\nFiction and documentary films made by Italian or Italian-based directors in the three continents (Africa, Asia and Latin America) or related to immigration, integration and interculture in Italy.
\nThe competing Extr\u2019A films in 2019.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Only films and videos\u00a0made in 2019 and 2020<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 that preferably have not been previously screened in Italy \u2013 can take part in the competitive sections.<\/p>\n

The non-competitive sections consist in special and thematic sections, retrospectives and tribute sections, as well as the\u00a0Flash section<\/strong>, presenting significant previews of recent films by established directors, critically acclaimed films or films that have received awards at the most important international festivals.<\/p>\n

Film submissions are\u00a0free of charge.
\n<\/strong>The deadline is\u00a0on 20th of December 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A \u201cfestival in the festival\u201d for new generations:\u00a02nd MiWorld Young Film Festival \u2013 MiWY<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A special attention in the selection step will be given to short african films and features from the 3 continents which can be screened at the second edition of the\u00a0MiWorld Young Film Festival \u2013 MiWY<\/strong>\u00a0(Milan, March, 23rd to 28th). MiWY is a festival fully dedicated to schools, evolution and empowerment of the educational and didactic activities of the COE Association in the framework of the FESCAAAL. A special program of films for new generations with eyes open to the world.\u00a0Award of the 1stMiWY in 2019.\u00a0<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n
