The meeting place for guests and the public, hosts exhibitions, initiatives and meetings on the cultures of Africa, Asia and Latin America and moments of relaxation between screenings.
A real festival in the festival, the programme of events at the Festival Center, is inspired by the claim of the 27th edition, Where Future Beats. The future will be the undisputed focus of the photographic exhibition of the same time, while the lounge, New Dimensions: Virtual Reality Africa, is dedicated to the more technological future of the cinema with the first in the world African films in VR 360°, and of the #DifferentisBetter corner, where it will be possible to experiment Lenovo technology to express the value of diversity creatively.
The Festival Center also hosts Jol | Limpid Photo reportage on water in Bangladesh, 25 photographs by Sara Munari on the importance of water with thoughts and images and the need to protect it for a sustainable future.
The daily rendezvous of Tea Time is the opportunity for the public and journalists to me the Festival guests, including the Oscar nominee Raoul Peck and the winner of the Silver Bear in Berlin Alain Gomis. There are also events on the cultures of the 3 continents, this year grouped together in clusters: Conversations, with special attention to fashion. Design and creative start-ups in Africa, Books, with a series of presentations of the latest editorial production, the Workshops and the Baby Workshops, from Africa to Japan, for adults and children. Special attention will be given to audiovisual education with the workshop, supported by Lenovo as part of the Lenovo experience #DifferentisBetter, Creative workshop -Stop motion, conducted by the Zooppers pro CHD Animation and dedicated to the creative process for the creation of multimedia content.
The rooms have been decorated by WaxMax, characterized by the shapes of Western design together with the colours of the prints of the well-known wax fabrics.
Every day there is the Happy Hour, at the bAAAr of the Festival, the home made bar inspired by the 3 continents and run by the Ivory Coast restaurant Akwaba, where it will be possible to enjoy the Chinese beer Tsingtao, the official beer of this year’s festival.
The temporary bookshop is curated by BookCatering: the bookstore you weren’t expecting! We tale the right books to the right people in unusual places. We tell stories to inspire and move you, each time with a unique and unrepeatable bookshop.
