Synopsis
The intimate and disturbing chronicle of the resistance by a family of white farmers in Zimbabwe, victims of the terror established by President Mugabe who, with the agrarian reform in 2000, claimed all rights over their lands. In 2008 Mike Campbell defined the President taking him before an international court of law and accusing him of racial discrimination and violation of fundamental human rights. Shot over more than 12 months, the film follows the trial and Mike’s courageous struggle, his family and his farm workers (500 black hands) against the violence of Mugabe’s threats.
Andrew Thompson - Lucy Bailey
Lucy Bailey:With a solid background in anthropology and a great passion for Africa, she has ten years of experience as a TV director, mainly for the BBC. Andrew Thompson:He started in television as a cameraman, and worked for over 12 years all over the world for the BBC, C4, National Geographic and Discovery. He then gradually moved into directing, making reportages on often difficult topics.
