| Synopsis |
| The film is the result of an encounter between two female filmmakers. Joanna Arong Vasquez, a Filipino documentary-maker who has lived and worked in Beijing making films on the economic and cultural changes in China today, went to Zambia to make a portrait of the filmmaker Musola Cathrine Kaseketi, who has made documentaries and short films. The story of Kaseketi is fascinating and moving and highlights the many contradictions of her country. Handicapped when very young, her childhood was very difficult, aggravated by a heartless adoptive mother, but today she is a prominent and highly respected filmmaker. The two women shoot together in the places where Musola grew up, producing an unusual portrait of traditional life in Zambia, one of the poorest countries in the world. |
